We sold the coach in '99 and I've had seperation anxiety ever since. Does anyone know if it's still on the road and where?? It's a 1979 on a '79 Dodge chassis (4 headlites), rear bath. Rear door window glass said "Cornwell's Clipper" with a clipper ship engraved. It has a bug-eye directional signal on each cab door. CA plates were AC PREZ,  chassis Vin is F34K09V711388, coach VIN was, I think, 4579. It had a FMCA plaque under the top front window & our ACOC #, 046. Sorry, I do not know where your clipper is. I have never met you but I had to take this opportunity to say hi and  *Thank You* for all you have done in the past. I am a newer member, and when I read  the old Journal's,  #56 (3-97) I was sad that you had stepped down. (For anyone reading this that does not recognise the name CORNWELL, he's our founder) Does this inquiry about your Clipper mean you may be rejoining us? I am in Michigan, but I would make the trip to Cali just to camp with you and shake your hand. How are you doing? How is Rhea?

Jerry, thanks for the kind words. We've been in CT for 5 1/2 years, try & get to So. Cal twice a year to see son Mike & family, friends, & old patients. We usually stay with the Libertys (old ACOC members), and we visit Irv & Jan Perch every trip. I still get excited when I see a Clipper - over 20 years I made so many mods to our coach it was like a work of art (to me). Rhea is fine but threatens to leave me (after 43 years) if I bought our Clipper back, but I'd take the chance.  Last I heard (7/01), it was on a lot in Salinas so I assume it's still in central CA somewhere. I guess the VIN or plates could be run but I no longer know any CA cops who would do it.  If we ever get it back I'd certainly make the trip to an ACOC outing. We'll be in L.A. in October for our 50th high school reunions and I have this fantasy that I'd find our coach & drive it back. Never hurts to dream.......

I might add, it was last seen for sale at '101 RV' In Salinas (I have the ad w/photo), stock #GKP503, in 2001. Maybe a member in or near Salinas could see if they still have a sales record of who bought it. For those who don't remember, we had an engine fire about 15 years ago, the insurance co. totaled it, I bought it back & rebuilt it it, so it has a 'Salvage' title. (Rhea claimed I did it only so I could write about it in the Newsletter.) Maybe......Again, I'd be grateful for any info.

I don't think I saw any of your post when I was more active on the forum. As the previous poster stated, it's an honor. I have certainly benefited from what you started. My hat goes off to you and Irv. Best of luck finding your Clipper.

I can certainly relate to the personal attachment you have to your Clipper. Every person I've spoken to that parted with their Clipper regreted it on one level or the other. Mine is "for sale" but I've been reluctant to part with it. Tomorrow I'm planing to post it on ebay. Other than this forum I haven't really posted it for sale. Would be nice to sale it to someone who appreciate the Clipper and know what a jewel it is.
